The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is a protected area of the Philippines. The park is located in the Saint Paul Mountain Range on the western coast of the island of Palawan, about 80 kilometres north of the city centre of Puerto Princesa, and contains the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River.
You will be collected from your hotel in Puerto Princesa and driven for about 2 hours to the Underground River in Sabang.
Upon arrival proceed to the registration area at the wharf and wait for your assigned boat. In peak season the queue is often quite long. You can spend some time at the nearby beach or take a short walk around the village.
When it’s your turn take a short boat ride to entrance beach of the Underground River National Park. Then hop on a park-operated canoe equipped with a search light, and wind your way down the Underground River.
During the 1.5 kilometer cruise you will see stunning formations of stalactites and stalagmites. The boatman will point out the formations that, with imagination, resemble animals, religious images, and vegetables.
Return to Sabang wharf area for lunch at a local restaurant, and if time permits, experience a thrilling Zip Line through the scenic Ugong Rock (optional activity not included in the price).
After lunch, you will be transported to your hotel in Puerto Princesa. Arrive at your hotel around midday or late-afternoon.
